FLEETWOOD MAC'S LEGENDARY TRILOGY OF SHOWS AT THE 1970 BOSTON TEA PARTY ' VOLUME 1. DEVASTATING PERFORMANCES REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL TAPES.
Boston is a CD trilogy which captures a magical night at the Boston Tea Party (Feb 1970). The set features the band at the height of its powers with its classic blues line-up of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer & Danny Kirwan alongside the omnipresent Mick Fleetwood & John McVie.
Originally recorded for a planned release later the same year, these recordings were left in the can, unissued, following leader Peter Green''''s sudden decision to leave the band a few weeks after the dates. Tracks from the shows were eventually released in various forms in the mid-80s but these releases were blighted by poor sound sources. The discovery of the original 8-track tapes & a number of previously unreleased tracks in the late 90s allowed the material to be re-mixed, remastered & substantially overhauled for release on 3 separate CD volumes.
The mid-price trilogy release on separate digipack CDs brings together all of these re-mastered recordings to present a complete document of these historic shows, each complete with an 8-page booklet & composite sleeve artwork when the CDs are owned together. Boston Volume 1 (SMACDX1327); Boston Volume 2 (SMACDX1136); Boston Volume 3 (SMACDX1137).
